Privacy

What this site collects, why, and how to have it removed.

In short

  • Your schedule files are never uploaded. The tools read them in your browser, on your computer.
  • If you join the waitlist, we keep what you type in the form, to write to you about the monthly review. Nothing else is done with it.
  • We count visits with Pirsch, which uses no cookies and does not keep your IP address.
  • There are no ads, no tracking cookies and no selling of data.

Who runs this site

schedulepeek is an independent software studio based in Lviv, Ukraine. For anything about your data, write to hello@schedulepeek.com.

Your schedule files

When you open a .xer or .xml file, the page reads it inside your browser. The file, its contents and its name are not sent to us or to anyone else, and nothing about them goes into our visitor counts. You can check this yourself: open your browser's developer tools on the Network tab, then choose a file. No request carries it.

"Try a sample schedule" downloads a made-up project from our server; that is the only schedule file that moves over the network.

The waitlist

If you join the waitlist we store:

  • your email address, the role and the option you chose, and your note if you wrote one;
  • the page you signed up on, and when;
  • a one-way hash of your IP address, used only to stop abuse;
  • when we sent the confirmation email and when you confirmed.

We use this to send you the confirmation email and then one email when the monthly review is ready to try, and to learn which roles and prices interest people. We do not share it or use it for anything else. We keep it until you ask us to remove it or we close the waitlist, whichever comes first. To be removed, write to hello@schedulepeek.com from the address you signed up with.

Emails are sent from our own mail server, not through a mailing service. We keep a short record of each email sent (recipient, subject, time, whether it was delivered) for 30 days to catch delivery problems, and a copy of each email also goes to our own inbox, so we can answer questions about it. Asking to be removed removes those copies too.

The legal basis is your consent, which you give by joining and confirming, and can withdraw at any time.

Cookies

Looking at pages sets no cookies. When you send the waitlist form, the site sets one cookie, SID, a random session number that protects the form against forged requests. It holds no personal information and expires after 30 days. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.

Visitor counts

We use Pirsch Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. To make the count work without cookies, our server passes Pirsch the page address and title, the site you came from (if it is another site), your screen size, and your IP address, browser and language. Pirsch turns these into an anonymous visitor number that changes every day, and states that it does not store IP addresses and sets no cookies (Pirsch privacy policy). Pirsch is run by Emvi Software GmbH in Germany, and keeps its data on servers in Germany. Admin and account pages (sign-in, registration, password reset, email confirmation) and waitlist confirmation links are not counted.

We do this because we have a legitimate interest in knowing which tools people use, in a way that does not identify them.

Our server

The site runs on a server rented from netcup GmbH, a German hosting company. Our web server keeps no access logs of your visits. The site's own log records errors, and sign-up attempts it refuses as abuse (with the IP address and email involved); it is deleted after 14 days. To stop abuse, the site also counts requests per address and per network for a few minutes up to an hour, in temporary memory and under a one-way hash, not as the address itself.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or withdraw your consent, by writing to hello@schedulepeek.com. If you are in the EU or the UK and think we have handled your data wrongly, you can also complain to your data protection authority.

Changes

If this changes, we update this page and the date at the top. If you are on the waitlist and the change matters to you, we will tell you by email.
